Hundreds of thousands of Gedeo people have been internally displaced due to intra-ethnic violence between Guji Oromo and Gedeo ethnic groups. The Ethiopian authorities have forced some of the hundreds of thousands to return to their homes and villages, where they have lost everything, and still don’t feel safe. However, thousands of people originally from the Guji Zone still live in camps in the Gedeo zone, seemingly forgotten.

Hundreds of children live in alarming conditions and do not go to school. Among those still living in Camps in Gedeo Zone, some of them are living in Dilla Camp, where the children have to go to the streets and collect food in the garbage and bring it to their families.
